What is Yoga?

This post explores the history and philosophy of yoga, and connects it to modern day practice. I was inspired to write this piece through conversations with family and friends, and because I’ve had the pleasure of being many students’ first introduction to yoga. I believe this information is pertinent for all yogis whether they’re a beginner or an avid studio-goer, as it explores the core principles of yoga which can help contextualize and build a yogi’s personal practice.
